No Name Hosta “D”

Description

This is a Han’s Hansen rejected plant. Did not qualify stable enough or good enough to be registered. Handed out to the gals at Shady Oaks Nursery as a free gift. Possibly early staged of introducing Earth Angel Hosta. Every year it does vary and sometimes a bit of larger golden yellow and white streaks going into the center of the leaf.  Mostly Golden yellow changing to white as the season progresses on the outer edge of the leaf. Three shades of color and I don’t remember much blue in the leaf in the spring, if it had any. Can produce seedlings that are very blue, as I have one growing now for a possible future introduction. Light lavender flowers with more white on edges of flowers. Matures 15 inches tall and 32 inches wide. Zones 3-9.

PS- This hosta costs a bit more because of possible breeding qualities. Or just because it is a nice odd looking plant. Maybe full of surprises- somewhat unstable.
