Description

A stable sport of Rotini (a streaked plant). About 2 inch wide yellow margin, turning white by summer. With blue-green centers. Where the margins and center meet, some misting and streaking occurs. Near white tubular flowers bloom late June to mid July. Matures 20 inches high and 44 inches wide. Note: Another stable sport of Rotini is named Champaign Toast, a reversed variegation of Beautiful Night where the yellow/white is in the center of the leaf. Zones 3-9.

Additional Information: This is the Hostas-Store 3rd registered hosta plant. Since the mother plant is named Rotini, a form of spaghetti, I had to come up with a name. Another spaghetti name for a hosta did not sound like a good name. Right away I though about the Walt Disney Movie Lady and the Tramp and the romantic scene for the dogs at the Italian restaurant. I listened to the romantic song, and the name of the song was “Bella Notte”. I asked Renee, my gal, what does Bella Notte mean in English. She responded “Beautiful Night”. Right away I knew this is the name for the new hosta sport! Registered in year 2021.
